          ZNSR Intrusion Detection (IDS & IDP)

There are two areas that a firewall cannot protect you or your business from.  These areas are: an employee or hacker and a new (yet to be developed) attack.  Because of these reasons, you need a multi-layered approach to protecting your network.  IDS should be your second lawyer. If a hacker gains entrance through your firewall or to a computer on your network, Intrusion Detection Software (IDS) proactively scans all traffic for known hacking signatures and notifies your security staff.  The 'P' in IDP stands for Protection. IDP adds an extra layer of intelligence to IDS.  Using intelligent scanning of anomalous network events, IDP prevents false alarms and shuts down the hacker's access whether the hacker has entered through your firewall or is sitting on your network.
